It's New Years Eve! 2014 is on it's way out, it was a rough year one that I am not too sad to see go. Lots of good stuff happened and we had fun as always, but it was just hard. I'm looking forward to a new year and hoping for more fun and family time. We went sledding this afternoon, I was done after my second time down after a pretty nasty crash, but the kids kept going for hours. I pretty much had to drag them off the sledding hill. Thanks Grace, Carlos and Mat & family for joining us!
My kids' New Years Eve treats.
After sledding, we went to Stewarts for dinner. I was just boring and made soup, but Ryan had a very fancy contribution to our meal. I'd never heard of Raclette, but it was sure tasty. Basically it's melting different cheeses and putting it on bread or veggies or we had some ham too.
As far as the rest of the evening goes, I will update on that later. Right now it is 10:30 and we still have a houseful of wild crazy kids running around screaming and still lots of food to eat and fireworks. The night will go on for awhile still.

Went Downtown
We didn't make it to Temple Square before Christmas so we went today. We got to Salt Lake early in the afternoon and it was a cold day, but we ducked inside often to get out of the wind. Our first stop was the movie. Owen and I were not impressed at all, Davis liked it, and Ally said it was so so. We saw Into the Woods. I actually liked it until the end and then it just turned all wrong and just couldn't get over soon enough. After the movie, we went to get some dinner. While we were just getting sat and getting our drinks the fire alarm started going off. A voice told us to exit immediately and lights were flashing. It turns out it was just a drill, but still kinda freaky. The sun was going down and although the wind had stopped, it was so cold!! We walked around the mall for a little bit and then went on over to Temple Square. It was beautiful. It was different going after Christmas, it was still pretty, but just different. I'm glad we still made it while all the lights were on though. By time we made it home, we were exhausted, but I loved hanging out with my kids all day we had a very fun day.

Bang Bang!
2014 went out with a BANG today. Ha Ha, I know lame, but I just couldn't help myself. Dave got a couple of new guns for Christmas, so we went out with Ryan and his boys to try them out. We all got in on the action and had a fun afternoon.

Merry Christmas!
I tried blogging last night, but I didn't make it very far because I was exhausted from a wonderful Christmas. We had a perfect Christmas waking up to a white one. Mother Nature pulled through and sent us snow, it was a beautiful day. We are very blessed and have a lot of people that love and look out for us. I love my family so much and I loved seeing how happy they all were today. We woke up and enjoyed a morning hanging out together and then we drove to Layton and went to Carrie's house for soup and rolls and some yummy homemade peppermint ice cream.

Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve is full of traditions, and this year was great. The boys spent the night at Stewarts last night with Chris so we had extra guests with us at Farr's which was fun. When we first set out for ice cream, we were worried our tradition would have to end because the Farr's by us was out of business. But, we fought traffic to drive to Riverdale and luckily our tradition of a treat before the party can live on. I mentioned before the party that I felt lucky, it was my year to get the nut in my dessert and looky here, I actually did get a nut! Grandma and Grandpa Jones always host a wonderful Christmas Eve for us all to enjoy and we love this tradition as well. After this party, we head to Stewarts for some late night Christmas action. By now the kids are running low on energy (especially the boys who went to bed at 5 am), but they still are so excited and hyper. Tired and Christmas hyper are a bad mix of emotions, but we pushed through and had a great evening together. As usual, I came home feeling my kids just got so spoiled that they could sleep all day and don't need more Christmas in the morning. I've got some pretty special & lucky children who are loved by so many. Thank you everyone for making it a beautiful Christmas Eve for my family.

Dreaming of a White Christmas
For Family Night, we went out to dinner and walked around the Roy fire station looking at the Christmas lights. It was so pretty and we had a fun time. Before we went to the lights, we made a stop for flavored hot chocolate, it was a cold evening, but we are still waiting for snow. Please snow come before Thursday!
