Another day another football game

Davis made the decision at the beginning of the summer to play up for Fremont this year.  He worked hard all summer and stuck to it, and today was their first game as a sophomore team.  They played amazing.  The offensive line did a fantastic job.  They won 19 to 14 against Pleasant Grove.  Good job Davis, I love that I have another son to play Fremont football, I will probably be going to the games still long after I don't have a student there.
My two Fremont Silverwolves.  I am so happy to get to watch Owen and Davis play football.  I love that they are playing for the same school this year!!

12th, 9th, and 4th

Owen started his senior year today.  That just makes me sad.  He has football 1st period, so he just rolls out of bed and goes in his pajamas and the hair was just a mess.  But when he starts and ends his day with football, it's either this look or a sweaty stinky look.  Why would I want anything different,  Owen is football.
Davis started his 9th grade year.  His last year of being at the junior high with me.  I love working at our school and getting to see them.  Davis has made some good friends at Fremont since he's playing football there, but he was happy to see his friends again at Rocky.
And my 4th grader.  She was a big ball of nerves this morning when I dropped her off at her new school.  But it was an early out day and on early out days, she gets to walk to my school and hang out with me and she ran in the door with a huge smile on her face.  She had a great day!!

Never leave it up to the kids

Today was "The Great American Eclipse".  I had to work (boo), but I knew the kids would be watching the eclipse, and I honestly thought I would get a couple pictures of their "viewing party".  I got absolutly nothing.  I took pictures of me at work looking at the eclipse, but if I'm not around they don't even think about taking pictures.  I just can't trust them with anything.

17 years of Owen!

Owen turned 17 today.  One thing has remained constant over the years and that is his big smile and ability to make me laugh, oh and his love for football, that will never change.  He started the party yesterday afternoon with friends, gave us a little bit of time today, and is back at it with friends tonight.  I hope your 17th year is an amazing one Owen, I love you!!!

Friday Night Lights

Yay, it is football sesason!  Our favorite time of year.  Sophomores had a bye tonight, but Varsity had a pre season game against Brighton.  It will be a different season this year, we have a new coach, new administration, and lost a lot of our team to graduation.  This year Fremont is young, but the talent is most definetely still there, they just need to click.  We lost tonight, but I still loved seeing Owen play and I can't wait until next week when I have 2 football games and a soccer game to go to.  This is the best time of year!

All things come to an end

It's always crazy to me at the beginning of summer vacation looking at 3 full months of no school/work.  How will we fill the time?  It seems so long, but it is even crazier to me how those 3 long months seem like 1 when it's all over.  We didn't go to Lagoon as much as we have in years past, but we still got our money's worth out of the passes, and had a perfect way to celebrate National Roller Coaster Day!

Weber County Fair

We went to the fair over the weekend.  The boys mostly hung out with friends, but I had Gator to pal around with.  They came around again for the Demolition Derby.  Last year I had never been to one, but I actually loved it, so my friend and I got tickets again this year.

Hair

Both of the  boys are growing their hair out.  Owen's is really curly while Davis's is very straight.  But with long hair, they both let me play with it.  I had Owen's in a french braid, Davis thinks he wants a perm, but while I let them mostly have freedom when it comes to their hair, I will say no to a perm.

Davis & I

August 12th is Middle Child Day.  Davis and I are both the middle children.  He wasn't very happy with me that I wanted a picture of the two of us, but I made him and thank you Davis!!

Art Camp

Gator loves doing things at my friends center Kool Kidz.  This week she did an art camp, and she loved it.  Gator loves being creative and making things and that means messes too.  They did some cute pieces of art.

In the paper

The Standard Examiner is doing a preview of all the highschool teams around here before the season starts.  Owen was asked to be the face of Fremont Football, and have his photo taken to go along with the article.

Winding Down

We are a couple weeks away from starting a new school year.  Boo..... but we are still fitting in some fun things where we can.  The boys begin two a days tomorrow and I have a couple of meetings for work scheduled, but we wanted to get in one more day at the lake, so yesterday was the only day we had a full free day.  I'm glad we had some family able to spend the day with us and make it another fun day of swimming, paddleboarding and memory making.

School Shopping

I hate shopping.  I've never been a shopper.  How I had a daughter that loves shopping and trying on every single piece of clothing in the store baffles me.  The boys are a little more like me.  We went to Farmington to do some school shopping today and about mid modeling session for Gator they left.  I couldn't blame them, it was crowded and not enough employees anywhere led to some long slow lines.  I texted the boys to see where they were and I got this picture.
It is Thursday today, so we tried something new.  A dessert place called The Baked Bear.  It was delicious.  I don't think my kids would give any dessert place less then 5 stars, but they were a little cranky from shopping so I didn't ask for a review.  I barely made it through taking a picture of them alive.   I figured I would just let them enjoy their treat.  100 degrees and only Davis would get a hot chocolate.

We had 2 "Try Its" today.  I had to get the dessert to make the boys smile again, and I also made a new recipe for dinner.  Spaghetti grilled cheese.  Pretty darn good, messy, but good.

Some things are more important then sleep

It was late, and we really should've been in bed, but we needed an ice cream and game night.
