Finishing off February

Leap day, we have an extra day this year.  I'm going to end February with a random post.  It was a pretty busy February, I like being busy.  We've all got some spring fever including Joey, so we have been outside quite a bit with him when we have down time.
Although Gator still insists she doesn't love robotics, her team continues to do well in the scrimmages.  My boys were the same way as Gator, they just loved to be involved at school and do so much.  I'm struggling with Gator almost being done with elementary school.  She is my last and I just don't want my kids to be all grown up.
I've known about chariot races at the fairgrounds for years, and although I always said I wanted to go, I never did.  Last weekend Owen, Kylee, and Gator finally went with me.  Those horses are fast!  It was actually quite fun.
Gator hears puppies and she is the first one down to see them.  PJ was talking about his neighbor with all these hunting dogs and that got the boys down there, Gator had already found her way down there though and was planning a puppynapping.
This picture came from Gators teacher.  They went on a fieldtrip to Astro Camp.  There is a school in Ogden with a simulator of a space shuttle on top of their school, and apparently it was a pretty awesome fieldtrip.
The boys were at a basketball game and Gator at practice the other day, so I took Joey to the park.  I know, seriously, I did this on my own free will.  He had a great time chasing a ball and his favorite rope toy for over an hour.  What is really weird, is I was just taking all these pictures and snaps of Joey.  Since when did I do that?
Hiking season is about here.  The other night was such good weather, we took Joey out again to the Bonneville Shoreline trail.  The hike was great, the end was awful when some freaky guy flashed his knife and got mad at me for just saying hi.  It had me unsettled the rest of the night, stupid person.
I got mad at Davis for this one.  I've wanted to go to ax throwing forever, so what does he do?  Takes a date, and sends me a picture.
After the last volleyball tournament we left quick because Davis and Gator were getting on the road to Milford.  But we were told that Gator was voted by all the coaches there to receive an award.  They announced "Allison Stewart" and it took a minute for anyone to realize it was Gator.  So one of her teammates accepted her certificate and got it to Gator later at practice.  I was so excited for her!

Too headstrong

Last year we found the hypnotist that we watched at Lagoon years ago, in Ogden.  He is so funny, and he comes often to Wise Guys on 25th street.  Tonight we went to his show and out to eat at Craft Burger.  And although Lulu really really wanted to be hypnotized, it just didn't work for her.  Last year, Owen tried and it didn't work on him either.  So far the only one has been Davis, and that was hilarious.  We'll just have to go back soon so Owen and Lu can try it again.

Long weekend

It's been a long weekend with no school on Friday or today.  Gator had volleyball in Logan on Saturday, but when she got done with that, her and Davis drove down to Milford.  Owen had plans on Saturday and a farewell on Sunday that he wanted to go to, so him and I stayed home.   I went to the temple on Saturday afternoon.  I'm working on my stack of family names.   Gator is getting the baptisms and confirmations done, so I did some initiatories.  I've got about 30 names that I set a goal to do the work for this year, Gator is helping me, and when I do the endowments, I may have to talk Krissy into helping me, but I really want to accomplish this before the end of the year.   After the temple, I just did the grocery shopping.  The rest of the weekend we were pretty lazy.  We were left with Joey to take care of, today I needed to get out of the house so Joey benefited from my spring fever, and got to go for a long drive  with Owen and I and an afternoon at Antelope Island.  He was in heaven.  It was a fun afternoon, and a nice cure for my  boredom and spring fever.

Valentines

I don't have any pictures of the boys with their Valentines plans.  Owen and Kylee went to dinner at the Timbermine and Davis was hanging out with friends.  I did get some pictures of mine and Gators evening though.  We went to Josh and Rachelles and had pizza and played the Switch.  I also took chocolate for melting and stuff to dip.  We didn't have school today, so Davis and Gator went skiing for a little  bit.  It's crazy that the skiing season is coming to an end.  We aren't having as many storms anymore, so they are skiing in the sunshine.  When I was little I loved spring skiing.  It has been a great winter for snow, so I think they will have at least another month to get some skiing in.  Davis and Owen also went out to breakfast with Dave and Sheila this morning.  It was supposed to be for Davis's birthday, but Owen got to tag along.   I did get a Valentines treat for my kids, I know I'm a dork, but I just like to give them little treats sometimes to make things fun.  "I've got my eyes on you Valentine".

Finally

Gator wanted her hair highlighted, so for her birthday I made an appointment with Karma to do her hair.  I've been bugging Davis for months to get a haircut.  I knew he wanted to grow it out, but just a trim.  I was shocked when he agreed this time.  He's a dork with his hair and is always doing something silly.  His mullet is coming in nicely though.

Monster Trucks

Tonight we went to the Maverik Center for a monster truck show.  We've gone just about every year to some sort of monster truck show since Owen was just a couple of years old.  They are always entertaining and maybe that is what started my boys love of trucks.  I could totally see them driving a monster truck down the road.  "Get out of my way, my truck is bigger than yours."
