Beautiful Hike

 Davis, Kin, Gator, and I went on a hike up to Stewart Falls.  Stewart Falls is in Provo Canyon, which has got to be one of the prettiest places in the state in the fall.   We've been to Stewart Falls before in the summer, it was way better in the fall.  We got to see the last of the wildflowers, and the beginning of the leaves changing colors.  There was a nice breeze, but that was very short lived.  The afternoon and the next 10 days at least are supposed to be 90 degrees.  I am not happy about this, I barely survive the heat in July & August, by the end of September and October it is supposed to be nice and cool.  I have a busy fall planned, the weather better get with the program soon, I wait the whole year for fall.  Regardless, the hike was beautiful.  We had a great time!  

Awesome Storm

 We had the most awesome storm blow over.  I am a storm lover, the rain, the thunder, the rainbow.  This storm had it all!  

Happy Birthday Zoie

This girl loves her birthday and counts down the whole year.  September 10 is finally here again, and we celebrated tonight with Zoie & Brady.  They came over for dinner and dessert.  Happy 17th birthday Zoie, we are so grateful for you in our lives.  

Fair Week

 Owen & Kylee are fair frequenters.  They love the fair.  So now that Owen isn't playing football, they went basically every night to the fair.  They tried lots of food, went to the rodeo and demolition derby, and Kylee got to say hi to all the animals multiple times.  

And another one of Owen and Kylee.  He has a different view of the games this year, but he is still a Bengel supporting his team.  

Homecoming

 Brady is going to Fremont and Gator is going to West Field, but he still wanted to ask Gator to the Homecoming dance.  He was so excited about the dance.  Gator looked beautiful.  They rode horses in the morning then met up with his brothers group for dinner and the dance.  Brady & Gator are the cutest friends, I love their friendship.  

Dog school

Gator wants to make sure the dogs are well behaved and have manners.  It isn't working very well, but she still tries.  

 

The second first day of school

 West Field is finally done.  Well, done enough for school to start.  Gator officially started her junior year today.  She had her class at Fremont, so she was a little nervous to get to Fremont then go to West Field and get parking and find her classes, but she just called me and said she had a good day and was now at work.  It will be a different year for us with her working and getting used to a new schdedule, but she'll do great!  

Martina McBride

I still love the small concert venues.  Layton Ampitheater is an awesome place to go to a concert.  They may not have the biggest names perform, but I have enjoyed many concerts there.  Martina McBride is actually a pretty big country singer and she put on a great concert.  At first I wasn't going to go because I knew it would be super crowded, but Rachelle really wanted Millie to go and she couldn't take her because she's acutally been working for the Arts Council this summer so she was in the ticket booth all evening.  Gator and I happily took Millie, and I am so glad we did.  We had so much fun, even if the music was a little "old country" for the girls, we all had a fun time.  After the concert, we went to Applebee's for half price appitizers.  I haven't been out to eat after 10:00pm for years.  I am too old for the "party" lifestyle.  But thank you Millie & Gator for hanging out with us old moms, we sure had a fun time.  

Rushing Fall

 I want fall so bad.  This morning Gator, Kin, and I went to the sunflower festival.  It was so hot, but I kept wishing it was fall.  The flowers were beautiful.  We bought a bucket and could cut as many flowers as we could fit in the bucket.  I wanted to look at the flowers while we went to Starbucks to get a pumpkin chai drink so we put them on our table at Starbucks, drank our fall drink, and wished it was fall.  

The first first day of school

 This year is a little messed up.  Gator will be going to the new school, West Field.  That school isn't done yet, so she has an extra 2 weeks of summer.  Her schedule finally did get finalized though, and it turns out she has one class at Fremont, so she actually missed her first day of school Wednesday, but had one class today.  She is excited to be going to Fremont for 1st period though because then she can pop in to see Brady.  And she found out today that Zoie is actually going to be going back to Fremont as well, so she will be able to see both of them first semester.  

Owen had his first day of grad school on Monday.  He is in for a tough 3 years, but he will do amazing, I know it.  He is excited, especially for his cadaver lab.  I don't think I could do that.  

My new junior high is the only new school that is mostly ready.  At least enough for students to begin school.  So I had my first day on Wednesday.  Gator was in Kaysville spending the night there before Dallin left for the MTC, so I was home alone and had to do my first day of school photo at her bedroom mirror.  Here is to another school year!
