Cousins

We've had some fun days with our cousins lately and I haven't posted any pictures.  I know....shocking.  I always post pictures.  We love playing with our cousins!

When you have a little sister

I remember the day I told Owen and Davis they were having a little sister.  They were excited, but knew their life would change.  I told them that when she wanted to play tea party or barbies, they would need to play along.  The level of excitement for having a sister dropped....significantly.  They were mortified at the thought of having to trade in their trucks and video games and "boy toys" for dolls and tea cups and barbies.  Well, along came Ally.  And even though they are rough tough boys, they have a soft spot in their heart for their sister.  Luckily she is a princess tom boy.  She loves to play with her barbies and babies, but also with all their boy toys.  She just usually has her princess dress or accessories on while playing football or video games.  And only once in a great while does she ask them to play along with dressing up.  And please don't EVER mention to Owen and Davis that I posted these pictures.  I will be on their bad side for days probably months.

My mornings are crazy.  Showers, breakfast, double checking homework, car pool, packing lunches, bus stop, jackets, brushing teeth etc. etc.  This week and next are going to be extra busy with the book fair going on at school and a few extra things going on, so I was a tad jealous when I came upstairs from getting Davis out to the bus at the last second this morning.  Gator doesn't have school on Thursday's so she got her pillow MY blanket (the nerve of her when I have to be out of my warm soft bed to steal my blanket)  and her dog and got back in bed to enjoy some cartoons.  Sad for her though it didn't last too long, cause if I'm busy that means she is busy.  Poor girlie just has to go along with me and all my errands. 

 

 

My Fall Day

Once a year, I make the plans and no one can complain.  Luckily no one tries to complain, they all know me and know I am so in love with this time of year.  I plan a whole day, usually conference Sunday, to go for a drive to enjoy the beautiful season.  I pack a lunch and we listen to conference as we drive.  This year we went up into East canyon.  It was amazing, so many reds and yellows.  The kids can't complain about pictures on my day either, that is just the rules.  And I take advantage of it!

We like Liberty Park, so that is where we stopped to get out and eat lunch and play for a bit.  We were there for a couple hours, it was just such a beautiful day, and the kids were actually getting along and playing together.  I could've stayed there all day.  I loved today!  Davis shared his lunch with a squirrel that we saw in a tree.  This little guy entertained all of us for quite some time.  Davis would run over to the tree and put a cheeto on the ground, then we would watch and sure enough every time the squirrel would come down grab the cheeto in his mouth and run back up the tree.  He had a very full belly I'm sure by the time we were done. 

Liberty Park has a big hill that the kids like to roll down.  It is a very "kid" activity, I always loved doing this.  Now it makes me sick to even watch let alone actually do it.  Davis decided to challenge Owen to roll down as fast as they could then jump right up and run back up the hill.  Owen did this with not much problem, but Davis, well as you can see he fell flat on his face. 

It was a great family fall day.  If schedules allow, I may try to squeeze another fall day in.

Region Champs!!

Davis's team won the region championship tonight.  The game was played on a weeknight because it was a 3 way tie for first place.  And these awesome boys walked away winners.  First place!!  It was an exciting game.  Davis called the coin toss and the ref gave him the game coin and told him it was his to keep.  He was so excited and said that is now his lucky coin. 

Kids Pictures

I took pictures of my kids tonight.  The kids are bigger so they complain more about pictures, but yet they are older so they understand that if they just sit and do what I ask it will be easier and go faster.  However, there definitely is a point where we are all just done.  Luckily I got some cute shots before we (I) reached that point.
