As I was planning Davis's birthday party with him, all he wanted to do was play football. I mentioned sledding because we actually have snow this year, but he really wanted to invite friends over to play football. Well, with all the snow we couldn't exactly do that in the backyard, so we went to an indoor field and Davis invited some of his friends to play flag football. It was a fun party, the boys got to run and be wild and crazy and it was minimal work and best of all minimal mess! With the colors he wanted for his party, bet you can't guess who he is hoping to win tomorrow in the Super Bowl. Yep, the Ravens. He is so excited to have his birthday on Super Bowl Sunday, and we have another super fun party planned. Lucky duck!

A free afternoon
The district closed all schools early yesterday, games were cancelled all in preparation for a "big" storm. Well, the storm never came, but we had a free afternoon so we went sledding. It has been an awesome winter with lots and lots of snow. We take full advantage of it when we can. I came home earlier and Davis was head first in the snow with just his legs sticking out. He had dug a little cave in the pile of snow. Owen liked the idea and took shovels to the park with us and built himself a cave. It was actually pretty relaxing inside just laying there. I thought Owen was going to fall asleep. It's been fun, but I am awfully stiff and sore after shoveling 3 days straight. It is supposed to warm up, a little break from shoveling the driveway will be nice.

Miscellaneous
Gee, only 4 posts for a whole month. What is wrong with me? I better just post a "whatever" post before February to help with my numbers a little bit:) January is usually a "slow" month. Well, we are still crazy busy with school and basketball, but it just takes us awhile to get in the groove of a new year. I haven't even gotten my camera out in forever, so these are all from my phone. That reminds me, I better go check the battery on my camera because we have a BiRtHdAy coming up. February is going to be a fun month!
Gator sleeping with her dog. They cuddle every night. It was my birthday on Monday, and my friend (also Ally's preschool teacher) brought donuts. Well, Ally thought they were for her. Her absolute favorite breakfast is warm donuts dipped in chocolate milk. Gross, I say.
Until Bella steals the donut
Davis bundling up to head out the door to the bus stop. One of the last pictures of my "9" year old.
We've had a crazy winter. Tons of snow!
Owen is under there, not feeling well today.
But with another storm coming, the district closed school today, so it was a good day to be sick.
Poor Bella. She tolerates Gator.
A trip to the pet store to get crickets for Blaze and Davis can't pass up the chance to hold a snake. I gave in for a lizard, but never a snake!
Playing Kinect can get a little rough. This is from Ally, not the boys.
Gator and her friend Aydin, they love basketball, cause they get to see each other all the time.
Basketball. Davis is really improving, it is fun to watch. More basketball.
And lots and lots of dressing up going on around here. Lots and lots of messes. As you can tell the boys avoid my camera at all costs. Ally loves to have her picture taken, but the boys are sick of it. I have to take what I can get with them.

No sledding today
All I have been posting about lately is playing in the snow but the kids have been bugging to go swimming. Something they never tire of. I for one, enjoy winter time and the break from swimming, but not them. We were teasing them that with all the snow we've had, Lagoon A Beach was able to open up for some weekend swimming. They were ALL for that idea, not caring that it was 10 degrees outside, they were going swimming. Gator was upset when she found out we were teasing, but as long as she got to swim she decided where didn't matter. I had bought another KSL daily deal for Crystal Hot Springs. It felt so good, well until we had to get out of the pool or walk up the long stairs to the waterslides. Who goes down waterslides in the middle of the winter? Davis and Gator couldn't get enough of them. And that water was not hot. My face was so cold going down the slide, but you got so cold going down the slide that the water at the end actually seemed a little warm. I had frozen hair, and Clark had a hat on with ice on the brim. The kids were up and down out of the water so much that they didn't have icesicles hanging from them though. Owen said it was a great way to relax after a long week of basketball, he said it felt good on his knees. I guess we will have to go more because these boys have basketball every day of the week.
Once Again
My craftiness comes in waves. And I'm pretty limited obviously, since all I've crafted has been a few wreaths, but here is my latest. Pretty darn cute and so easy!

Lovin the snow
What a slow start to the new year. Although looking back every January is kinda gloomy and slow going. Although it shouldn't be, we are still crazy busy with basketball and school and such. I guess I'm just gloomy. Although we did have a fun weekend last weekend. On Saturday, Eden got baptized and so Dad and Dianne came up for that. We were able to get together over here afterwards for pizza and playing. After all that snow we got, it has been SO cold. Like 8-10 degrees for the high cold. But some of the kids braved the cold and went out back to sled. They probably thought it was too cold for me to want to go out and take pictures, ha ha not a chance!

Welcome 2013
For the last night of 2012, we had a get together at Stewarts. Last year, we played Just Dance, so we brought that back out and got our groove on. I had to dance alot to burn calories from all the yummy food that we had. We also laughed alot playing Apples to Apples. Owen and Chris spent a good part of the evening sorting football cards. At midnight the kids were all out on the patio running through the confetti. Happy New Years!
