Celebrating Kylee & Kin

Kylee's birthday was the 22nd and Kin's is the 8th of July so since everyone was going to be here I thought it would be a good day to celebrate their birthdays.  It wasn't.  I mean we had fun, and I loved being with everyone.  It had already been such a busy weekend, throwing a celebration in the mix was probably poor planning.  But we painted and had lunch. . Everyone needs to eat so that was fine, it was just the painting that was more stressful than what we needed.  But thank you everyone for joining me in this stress relief activity, that was not very stress relieving.  I still loved the day.

The pinker one that Gator is holding is mine.  I was pretty proud of it.  Actually (besides Davis) everyone really did a great job.  With the step by step tutorial it is pretty amazing what you (I) can do.
They had bought tickets for a comedy show and contemplated not even going after the busy weekend.  But I am glad they still went to have some fun and relax.
Owen & Kylee left to go home, Davis & Kin went to the comedy show, and Gator & I feel like Willow here.
Tomorrow is another month.  July, my least favorite.  But I also start my last semester of school tomorrow!  I am just about done with my degree.  I will still need to get my teaching certificate, but by the end of the year I will have a college degree.  Crazy.

Moving, jets, dogs, oil change, concert, chalk art, HEAT

Davis and Kin kicked butt and got all their stuff moved in this insane heat.  We all helped out when we could.  It made for lots of trips between Roy and Clearfield, and so much sweat, but it got done.  Upstairs is a disaster, but it is all there.

The band aids were packed already, so they both had a paper towel & packing tape band aid.
The base had their air show this weekend, so we've been able to see some cool jets flying right by the apartment and while we were driving back and forth.
The dogs have all been loving the back yard.  It is a dog party!

Owen had to change his oil since he was down here with a garage.  He said it was nice to have his own built in midget.  Poor Davis, he isn't 6'9, but he isn't a midget.
Owen and Kylee bought tickets months ago for George Strait.  They spent a pretty penny on tickets, but Owen said this is one of those "have to go no matter what concerts".
After moving and work, I wanted to go to Bountiful to the chalk art festival.  The pictures are always so cool to see.  We did kinda rush though, it was hot, and we were exhausted, but I still wanted to go, and Gator was sweet to go with me.

Monster Bounce

Gator and her friend Addi took Brady & Zoie to a huge bounce house that has been at the mall.  It was so hot sitting and watching, I can't imagine how hot they were jumping for an hour.  After we went to the house, Owen was there.  He and Kylee came in town this weekend for a concert.  Gator and Addi made brownies, while Owen played Lego Batman with Brady & Zoie.  Davis & Kin are also moving in this weekend.  It is crazy and messy.  And there are a ton of dogs.  It is fun having everyone around.  It is a hot weekend to be moving, but it has to be done.

Summer evenings

Last week Gator and I went to the Taylorsville temple.  Another beautiful temple, and no rush to get home so we went out for a treat.  We found Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Clinton has delicious Acai bowls.
Game night, we pulled the dice games out of the cabinet and had a game night.  Again, with a treat of course.
The other evening was so nice and cool, we sat outside for 2 hours enjoying the evening.  Yes, we had a treat.
After work last week we took Brady & Zoie to see Inside Out 2.  They all have been waiting a long long time for this movie.  It was a very cute show.
Gator went and had a game/ninja smoothie night at Lu's.  I love that they took a picture for me!

West Haven Days

Last year Gator had a booth at West Haven Days, but she just wanted to go to hang out this year.  Her and her friend Kass took Brady & Zoie over this evening.

This time it was HOT

We spent another weekend down south, I had to go pick up Gator in Panguitch so I planned to stay a few days at my dads this time.  We weren't so lucky this time with the weather though.  I wasn't ready for the heat and when we got to Toquerville on Saturday, I seriously thought I was going to die.  We went straight to the river to cool down.  There wasn't much water, but it felt good to sit and visit.  Josh, Rachelle, and Eli were there for the night so we hung out and played games in the house.  We did a lot of that to get away from the heat.  We played games and looked at old pictures.  On Sunday we left the house long enough to go to church, and Monday we got up early to go on a hike.  It felt really good in the morning, but as we were coming down it was noon, and as soon as we came out of the canyon, the heat hit us like a wall. We barely made it to a gas station for a cold drink and back to my dads house before we couldn't move anymore.  The girls took a nap and I relaxed on the couch downstairs, but lizards in the window well caused a lot of excitement.  Dianne was outside trying to get them out so they didn't die, like a dummy I opened the window to see and there was a tiny hole in the screen, but a lizard found that hole and jumped right into the basement.  Luckily Dianne and Lucy saved my life and came in and chased the lizard around the basement.  The rest of the evening was calm and we played more games.  Tuesday we woke up and went to the Red Cliffs temple.  The girls and my dad did baptisms, and I went and did initiatories.  I love that our road trips usually center around a temple visit.  It was hot, very hot, but I am glad that we still took the trip down and that Lucy joined us.  I love making memories with my family.

Few Days Away

Last year, Sheila invited Gator to Panguitch for the quilt walk.  We were out of town, so we put it on the calendar for this year.  I knew I'd have to take her to meet Dave & Sheila, so I thought I'd plan a couple days away.  I saw Tuacahn was doing Frozen and I wanted to go so I bought tickets.  Davis and Kin wanted to go along, so I got another hotel room and a road trip was planned.  I was nervous to go to St George in June, but (and this is a lot coming from me) it was very pleasant.  I didn't want to die, but we were still able to spend time at the pool, go to the lake to paddle board, do some red rocks walking, and enjoy an evening at Tuacahn.  It was all great.  On the way home, we stopped in Cedar City to meet Dave & Sheila for lunch, then we drove to Milford.  Kin wanted to go gopher hunting and Davis & Gator were more than happy to take her.  Milford is my kids' happy place, they all love it there.  The hotel was nice (the beds weren't great), the weather was pleasant, the play was really good, and the company was fantastic.  I had a great weekend!
