Andrea sent me a link to this ghost town not far from dads. I knew my kids would think this was pretty darn cool. Saturday we all had planned to go, but with priesthood session and dinner it just didn't work out for Saturday, so we promised we would go Sunday. Owen, Collin, Davis, and Ty went and previewed it though it was dark when they got there. They thought it was pretty creepy and got all the little kids even more excited to go. After conference on Sunday and dinner we finally loaded up a bunch of over eager kids who really thought they were going to go see a ghost. Grafton was once a small town with a sad history. It was a pretty somber feeling walking through these homes, almost spiritual. I could have never lived through such trials.
The cemetery was really neat. It sounds strange to say that about a cemetery, but it was very peaceful especially as the sun set into the desert. Stories of sadness and death were written on the headstones and this marker.
Owen and Collin didn't fit in the home very well.
Davis and Gator were drawn to this swing and spent some time playing on it. When we got to the cemetery they read that 2 girls had actually passed away from an accident involving this tree and swing.
We left as the sun went down, but the older boys stayed for another night of exploring this town in the dark. They are a lot braver than me.
