Hunting

We used to go hunting every year, but once football started for the boys, we were always busy playing football, we couldn't take the time away to go hunting.  Davis and Dave decided to change that this year.  We still have football, but we just made time to go hunting.  We saw a ton of deer (all does and fawns though) the first night we were in Milford.  When the hunt actually opened the next day, they were all in hiding and we pretty much didn't see anything the rest of the weekend.  We drove a lot though, and saw a ton of beautiful country.  I've never loved Milford, but the mountains are amazing.  And Milford just finally may be growing on me a little.  Davis went down with Dave and Sheila on Wednesday.  They did some shooting and cleaning up at Grandma's house.  We got there on Friday morning and we drove out to a couple ghost towns.  The cemetery's in these ghost towns are such a sad place that really tell a story themselves.  I looked both Frisco and Newhouse up on the internet, and I can see in my mind just what types of towns they were.  Stereotypical cowboy old western towns, with so many stories.  I'm so glad that we went hunting again this year.  I really enjoyed my weekend. 

Maybe we didn't see any deer, but I wish I had a saw to cut down my Christmas Tree. 

Fall activities

Not only do I love the fall because of the colors and coolness in the air, but there are so many fun things to do in the fall.  The boys like the freaky scary haunted houses, I say no thankyou and Gator and I went for the corn maze.  When my boys go do there own activities, I'm at their mercy for pictures and clearly I haven't taught them well because I get nothing and I have to raid their snapchat for a single picture.  

And of course more football.  The sophomores finished up their season with a huge win against Syracuse.  

Varsity Time

Last night Fremont played Clearfield.  It was the last game of season play, they will start playoffs in a couple weeks.  Davis has been dressing varsity all season, but he was able to get in for some time last night.  It was exciting.  He snapped the ball really good and also landed a kid right on his back side.  The only time I allow that kind of behavior is on the football field. 

Fall weekend

It was a fun fall weekend.  Football games, Frightmares, General Conference, and my fall drive.  It was everything I want in a weekend.  But I had this overwhelming feeling that something just wasn't right.  And my heart was completely broken for Owen as he began emailing me telling me how sad and not okay he is.  So I tried to keep everything happy and normal for Davis and Gator, but I've never felt the amount of stress that I was feeling for Owen. Thursday Fremont played up at Weber.  I knew it would be a rough game and the weather was not going to be great, and it was also a school night, so I stayed home with Gator.  The game was called with 9 minutes left in a tie because of the weather.  So they had to finish the varsity game before the sophomores could play.  And it was an awful ending because Fremont lost.  The sophomore game also had a sad ending.  They were barely winning the whole game until the last 3 seconds and Weber made a field goal winning the game.  Davis had an awesome attitude though saying they'd get them next year.  I don't like losing, but it is still so fun to watch my kids do the things they love. 

While I was at the game, Gator went to Frightmares with Josh and Rachelle.  I was hoping to get there sooner to relieve Rachelle, she just had surgery.  I was able to get there at about 8:30 and I got to hang out with Gator, Blake, and Ty.  So it all turned out great!

Saturday we were pretty lazy.  Davis worked and Gator and I had to go grocery shopping.  Krissy invited us over to watch womens conference and have pizza and ice cream.  I think it should be a tradition. 

And this morning was my fall drive.  We actually found winter.  We went up to Snow Basin and it was snowing!  Davis got all giddy because it's almost ski season.  I got two fall drives this year, and they were awesome.  I love fall, I don't think there is anything prettier than fall leaves. 

Finally rain!

We haven't had any rain in the longest time.  I asked Davis if Joey had ever even seen a rainstorm, because I don't think it's rained since we got him.  I'd been waiting all day for the downpour and it came the same time as Gator was getting off the bus.  We grabbed umbrellas and went and played. I just feel bad because we sent Davis up to Weber High School for a football game......in a white uniform.  That is going to be a mess to clean up tonight. 

Owens mission

Just a couple more pictures from the MTC.  Owen left yesterday at 6am to get on his flight for Cincinnati.  I know he was excited.  He struggled in the MTC.  I am glad that he was honest with his feelings, and that he shared some really awesome experiences he had as well.  He has changed.  Even after talking to him on the phone yesterday, he sounded so grown up.  I hope time gets to feeling like it is moving faster, because this 3 weeks has seemed like forever.  I think now that he is actually in the mission field, it will be a whole different experience.  I pray it is amazing, awesome, spiritual, and life changing.  I know he'll have his hard days, and he already has had some extremely hard times, but he has gotten through them.  I pray he continues to go to Heavenly Father in those hard times.  I miss this kid so bad it actually hurts.  But so does the amount of pride I have in him.  

 This is Elder Broadbent.  Him and Owen had an instant connection in the MTC.  Owen said he felt like he had worked with him before.  He also said, Elder Broadbent is probably the reason he didn't come home.  I'm so grateful for this awesome stranger that I love so much.  Sadly he is now in Jacksonville, but I told Owen I want to meet him after their missions, he is just from Logan, so I am sure we will go meet him after they get home. 

 Um.....I don't know........

 I'm waiting for pday for him to tell me what this picture is of, but it looks like a beautiful place.  I'm pretty sure this is Cincinnati yesterday when he flew in.  All I know now is he is in Maysville, Kentucky.  Sister Welch texted this morning needing some info and she told me his first area is Maysville, and his companion is Elder Hutchins.  I pray Elder Hutchins is awesome, and he takes Owen and teaches him tons and makes him feel confidant and comfortable.  I also hope he gives really good mom hugs. 

 President and Sister Welch.  I've heard/read a lot of awesome things about them.  I still can't believe that it is Owen standing there with that missionary tag on. 

I bet those fall colors are amazing in person.  

 Home sweet home. 

 He should feel right at home.  The garbage is over flowing and no one wants to take it out.  But really, it looks clean and tidy.  A nice little place. 

It's October!

October 1st and we are in Halloween mode.  My absolute favorite time of year.  We picked up Davis from football this evening and went to get pumpkins.  I am pretty sure when my kids are all grown up and moved out, I will be going to the pumpkin patch by myself.  Davis got out of the car, said "that one" and let me take a picture then went back to the car.  But he was all over getting ice cream at Country Corner afterwards.  Gator is still into the activity.  I think that has been one of the hardest things with Owen leaving on his mission.  I am not ready to be alone.  I'm a mom, and I don't ever want my kids to grow up.  I knew this day would come, but why does it have to be already?  I'm in a hard spot, I want the next 2 years to fly by so Owen comes home, but I don't want Davis and Gator to be 2 years older, 2 years closer to leaving.  I have to enjoy every second of every day right now.  Time is passing regardless, so I just have to wipe my tears and enjoy my life.

 My ugly pumpkin this year.  I think it looks kinda like a praying mantis.  It is ugly!

 It was also National Homemade Cookie Day.  Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cookies for us, and a few neighbors.
