My dad and Dianne came into town tonight for one more holiday get together before the end of 2023. We had soup and played Graces money game. Gator was the big winner this year. I am sure she will buy yarn with her winnings. We were at a church in the gym so of course we had to play lightning. And of course I was usually the first one out, I think one game I made it to the third round, go me. Owen, Kylee, and Dallin weren't able to make it, but everyone else was there this year!!
To get our "Christmas morning" feeling with the boys still, we did a Christmas morning on Christmas Eve. Davis and Kin have 50 places they have to be the next few days, and I know Kylee and Owen will want to spend time with her family as well so I am so grateful I got the whole day to hang out with them. I know it means a lot to Gator too. She sometimes likes being the only child at home, but a lot of times she just wants the boys back to hang out with. Willow was excited as well because she had a big dog party with Joey, Steele, and Jake. It is crazy, me not a dog person, has a family that is almost half dogs. They all got spoiled for Christmas too. We opened our gifts, and had a big breakfast, then just spent the rest of the day hanging out, watching football, and napping until we went to Kaysville for the Christmas Eve party. Last year Davis and Kin couldn't make it to the Christmas Eve party, but they made it work this year and stayed with us for most of the evening then they just took off to go to her dads house for a sleepover. Gator and I are at Krissy and PJ's. Gator likes to have a crazy and loud Christmas morning still and their house is the perfect place for that with everyone. Owen and Kylee went to my house to spend the night and have a quiet morning tomorrow together before they drive up to Tremonton. I am getting ready for bed just really grateful. Really grateful my Heavenly Father has blessed me with such an awesome family, whom I love so so much. They are literally my reason for living and everything that I do.
Owen & Kylee came down today for the Christmas. Davis & Kin had to work until mid afternoon, but we all met up at Thanksgiving Point for Luminaria and dinner. I love the Christmas lights, I could walk in circles for hours around the lights, I love going. The only part I don't like is the fact that it is in Lehi, and that drive terrifies me. I make Owen drive my car, but there is a problem to that as well. He hasn't lived here for 4 years, he doesn't do traffic and Utah crowds well either. Snow would've been nice, I just held my coat the whole night, I didn't even need to put it on. We had a big group of family with us which is always fun. Some of us went to Costa Vida after for dinner. Then it was home to watch Christmas movies and gear up for the rest of the Christmas weekend.
I've always enjoyed going to the live nativity at Christmas time. Years ago I would go to the fairgrounds, they've moved it to a park in North Ogden now because so many people go. We took Brady and Zoie with us and they enjoyed seeing Santa and the reindeer. It is a strange Christmas this year though, definitely not a white Christmas, I didn't even wear a jacket. I was hoping for snow just for the next couple days, but it is a very dry forecast. We had a little party at Arby's, good thing we were the only ones there because we weren't quiet.
Normally at Farmington Station during the winter they have a skating rink or ice bumper tubes, but this year they didn't have either, but we still had a fun evening tonight going with Rachelle and Millie. We watched the movie Wish and got pretzel bites and Fiiz for dinner. The lights were so pretty. It was a little different than last year when everything was covered in snow and it was snowing. This year is very dry so far and way too warm for Christmas. I am pretty bummed with the weather, but I still enjoyed the Christmas lights and the company.
