I totally forgot about the fair this year, and I didn't have any plans for it. I can't believe I dropped that ball. But Brady invited Gator to go for a bit this morning while his mom set up her booth. There was a massive bounce house thing and he wanted Gator to run around and play on it with him. They gave her some free tickets to go back, so she invited Dallin and his friend to join her this evening for the rodeo.

Temple and Tea Party
Today we went to the temple to do baptisms and have a tea party for lunch after. I love that Gator is close to her cousins and they all enjoy doing so much together. One of Gator's favorite things is of course to go to the temple, I'm grateful her cousins can and do go with her. Krissy stayed back and made a fun lunch for them. Summer is winding down really fast, soon they will all be back to school.
Krissy and some of her kids had tickets to a Luke Bryan concert this evening. One of their friends couldn't go, so Gator got the ticket. Well, I just got this picture from Gator and Lucy looks so sad because 15 minutes before the gates opened he cancelled his show. I can't believe any artist would do that, how do they even have fans to support them. I am so sorry guys, I knew you were excited to go.Thursday, August 3, 2023
Fun summer days
School is starting in a couple of weeks, and we are still in play mode trying to fit in a few more fun days. This week has been awesome with some huge monsoon rain storms. I absolutely love summer rain storms. We had planned on taking Brady and Zoie swimming today, but we chose an indoor activity instead. I saw a new indoor playground had opened up in Roy and it looked right up Brady and Zoie's alley so that is where we went. I am glad we went when it was new, because it was so clean and fun! I am not sure how they will be able to keep a place like this clean, but for today it was perfect. Even Gator and I got in and climbed around, went down slides and played in the ball pit. After a couple of hours we were hungry and hot so we got lunch from Burger Bar and even though a huge dark cloud was forming in the sky, we took lunch to a park, making sure to go to one with a bowery, because that cloud looked very ominous. No sooner did we get to the park and started eating under the bowery, the skies opened up and it poured. Oh my gosh, it rained so hard. Thunder, lightning, the whole awesome bit. After about 30 minutes it stopped raining, and left behind some epic puddle jumping puddles. Zoie was not a fan, but she humored me for a couple pictures. Gator and Brady went home soaked. I am so glad we have Brady and Zoie to hang out with, we have so much fun with them. School is going to be so hard when our group is split in half between Rocky and Fremont this year.
Not Again
I felt a little deja vu as Davis texted me from work. He cut open the same finger today while at work that he did back in January, also at work. Although today he was using a knife he shouldn't be using so he couldn't go to work med. His co worker and him doctored it up with some liquid bandaid and duct tape and he worked the rest of the day until he got off and was able to go to Urgent Care to get it stitched up. His poor finger, one of these days, he is just going to end up cutting the whole thing off.

Milford
Krissy and I thought it would be fun to have a girls trip and Dave was supposed to go to Alaska for a month so we planned to go visit Sheila in Milford. Well, Dave got an infection and couldn't go to Alaska, but we kept with our plans and just visited both of them. The girls all went to a play in Cedar City and the boys stayed home watching movies. We got in town Friday night and went to the Milford swimming pool, then we got up and went shooting Saturday morning before the girls all got ready to go to dinner and to the play. We crammed a lot in to the short weekend. Owen surprised us and was able to go down, so we had a very full car load down, but I do that any day that I get to spend time with my kids. I wish Davis could've gotten off work and crashed the girls weekend as well, but he couldn't take another weekend off.

BlackHawk
I love this band. They are one of the first bands that I remember choosing to listen to and I knew all their songs and had their CD's. I asked my boys if they wanted to go with me, and they just answered "who". I aged myself, but they sounded good in the 90's and they still sounded amazing tonight. Thank you Gator for being a good sport and going with me. The opening band started and I wondered what the heck we were doing there. They were awful, Gator put in both her airpods and I felt really bad for dragging her up to Logan, but once the sun went down and BlackHawk came on stage, it was an amazing night and we had so much fun!

A weekend for the dogs and random
Davis and Kin went to Teton and Yellowstone over the holiday weekend, and asked us to watch Joey. I didn't want to watch him anymore because he was so stressful being sick, but whatever meds he is on are amazing, and he was totally back to his normal self. I still can't believe the difference in just 4 days. He was high maintenance with all his meds, but still a completely different dog from last weekend when we watched him before the vet. Davis shared some pictures from their trip, and I will be adding this to my bucket list because look at that wild flower field. So beautiful! Davis said the whole drive was amazing and they had a really fun long weekend. Jess also asked us to watch her dog, Harper over the long weekend. We hadn't ever watched her before, but her and Willow got a long really good. She was pretty easy, except for the fact that we had 3 big dogs in our little basement. We spent a lot of time outside though. On Monday, we went over to Karma's and had a dog party. Funny, we used to set up waterslides and sprinklers for all our kids, and now we do it for the dogs. They even got popsicles and ice for treats. Owen and Kylee went to a monster truck show over the weekend, and sent a picture. Owen and his monster trucks and rodeos. Last night, Gator and I mowed the lawn and a little storm blew through with a beautiful rainbow, then after we sat outside and watched some of the fireworks in the neighborhood. Another summer storm blew in, and I was more excited about the lightning than the fireworks. We went for a late night drive to watch the lighting and drive in the rain with out windows down listening to some Taylor Swift.
