I need a live in Lulu

Lulu has a shadow,she is 3 years old and named Ally. Ally LOVES Lulu. And thankyou Lu for always being so good with Ally and loving her in return. We had a fun girls night, with makeup and curling irons and nail polish and a little Justin Bieber. Ally looked so cute with her hair curled. And the kicker is, Ally just sits there and lets her do it. I get kicking and screaming and crying when I try to do her hair. Well, I guess I just need a live in Lulu.

Santa came!

We started our Christmas with a treat at Farr's Fresh. Any big event should begin with icecream. We may have just started a new tradition.

After we had dessert, we drove to Kaysville for Grandma & Grandpa Jones Christmas party. During the talent show part of the evening, Lucy enjoyed the music and asked Davis to dance with her. It was really cute how excited she was that he agreed (although he danced sitting down, but she didn't care). I love being able to catch pictures like this.


For the nativity Ally couldn't decide what she wanted to be. At first she was rocking the cow costume, but when she saw the Angel costume it was so long old cow. The boys are pretty agreeable with whatever they put on them. They were wise men this year.


After all this, the kids were ready to put on their pj's and head to bed and wait for Santa to visit. And visit he did leaving half his bag behind in our family room. And for the moment my kids loved each other and weren't scared to show it.





After church we drove to Layton for dinner at Carries. More food, more cousins and more craziness. But what else do we remember from holidays besides that? All the crazy family moments. Merry Christmas.

Pinky Promise

I had to giggle tonight. I've been having a few problems with Davis listening to me and doing things without me having to ask a million times. He isn't bad, just gets in his own little world and has a hard time getting back to reality. Although, Ally did tell all her friends at school today that her brother Davis was on the naughty list. He didn't like that news. We walked into Santas house, and he looked at Davis and the first thing he said to my little man was "do you listen to your mom?". I laughed out loud and my dear friend Santa caught on. He offered Davis a deal, and they sealed it with a pinky promise. We will see if Santa is happy with Davis's efforts on Christmas morning.

Christmas Village

One last week of our light night. Tonight my kids and I stayed close and visited the Ogden Christmas Village. It is always fun to go see all the little houses. We saw some old favorites tonight and some fun new ones. They even added a cute little train this year. I think I was more excited than my kids, but it was so cute. The lady said next year will even be better, with tunnels and everything. I am so there! I know I am a sucker for Christmas traditions. And the best part tonight was the Santa. He was awesome. Last week, the Santa just left me feeling kinda icky, but the Santa tonight was perfect. He laughed (his ho ho ho was so loud and jolly), he talked to the kids, he smiled, he asked questions, his beard & mustache were real it was great. Yes, even Owen got into the fun and allowed himself to talk to Santa and accept a candy cane. I love this tradition I have with my kids, and I can't believe Christmas is here again. What a fun month we had! Now we need snow, so we can sled!! Please snow, please!

Patriots WIN!!

The day came, and Owen was up and dressed at the crack of dawn ready to go! It was very cool to see a NFL game. Owen and I got a complaint on us. Apparently we were standing up too much. Does that sound like a legitimate complaint to you? We were excited, if standing up too much was the worst thing going on in the crowd then complain on us, but I can assure you it was not. I was a little scared of some of the people and things going on. But our attention was on the game, especially when someone gave us their tickets 19 rows from the field!! Owen said he could see right in Tom Brady's eyes. My favorite player is #75, Vince Wilfork. It was fun to see him play. These last 2 weekends were definitely a cool experience for my boys, one that they will remember forever and I will forever remember how excited & happy they were.

It was a rough trip....but we're here safe

We are here in Denver tonight. It was a long drive for sure. We all felt like this picture of Ally, by the time we got to the hotel. But we are here and so excited. Davis is acting like a professional tour guide. He is a pro on Denver after all. It is pretty funny actually, but it's driving Owen crazy. He's a little on edge though anyway because he is so nervous for his team tomorrow. The whole week, Ally had her swimsuit and towel packed and ready to go swimming. I kept telling her, she would need a bit more than just a swimsuit, but she wasn't convinced. And the second we got up to our room, she was changing her clothes and heading down to the pool. I had to laugh, because gosh we have a pool 3 minutes from our house, but we drove 8 hours to swim. But swimming it was. First things first. The power was out in the pool room though, so the kids swam in the dark. They didn't care, but dang it, it sure messed with my camera. Davis recommended a fun diner for dinner, where they ate last weekend. We tried to suggest someplace new, but the chocolate milkshakes just kept calling out to him. Owen quickly agreed, he had to see if Davis knew what he was talking about, and so we set off for dinner. It didn't disappoint. Tomorrow just isn't coming soon enough for Owen, the child might need to be medicated tonight.

I drove a team of horses....

We made a little switch a roo this week with our light night. Davis got home so tired last night and his practice got cancelled for tonight so we decided to do our light night tonight. Ok that was a long explanation just to say we went to lights tonight yeah! Anyway, we went out to Willard Bay tonight. We usually drive through these lights, but this year we chose to go on the wagon ride and it was so much fun!!! I loved tonight. And I got to "drive" the horses. I didn't do too bad, the lady just asked me if I wanted to and I said ok. My kids thought it was so funny. Ally didn't see much of the lights because the girls loves her horses and she spent the whole ride staring at the horses and made she she got to pet them and tell them hi when we were done. This is the first year that I have gotten any of my kids to sit on Santas lap. Owen never would and he still won't, but now it is because he says he is too old. I wasn't too fond of the Santa, it was a rather somber event. They needed a much happier Santa. But the kids got their candy cane, so they were happy. And it even snowed today (a little), what a fun Christmasy night!

Pinkalicious

Ally had a playdate at her friends house today. She loves my friend, Karma, and has been going to play at her house ever since she was 6 months old. Karma told Ally that they would make pink cupcakes today, and Ally insisted on bringing her Pinkalicious book. Now this is a very cute book, one that I never had heard of before I had Ally. As a mother of boys, it wasn't one that we purchased for our family collection. And Karma has 3 handsome sons, so she had never heard of this book either. So Ally is bringing pink into her house of boys, and having a blast with so much attention on her.

Davis goes to Denver!

Davis made it home safe and sound from his "awesome" weekend in Denver. Clarks parents drove him out there to go to the Bronco's vs. Bears game. And the Bears almost had a win, but lost in overtime. Dang it. But Davis still had the time of his life. I was so happy this trip worked out and he was able to go. Sometimes life gets in the way, but thank you Dave and Sheila for making this possible for him. He got home tonight with a mile wide grin on his face. And since he is a man of so many words his summary of the weekend is "mom it was awesome"!!!

I need advice

I'm sitting outside of Ally's preschool right now trying to figure out this little girl of mine. She has LOVED school since the first day. But the last couple of days she is crying, and won't let me leave. She won't go to nursery, or any friends houses either. She has to be right by my side 24/7. I'm in the shower, she is sitting right outside, I'm using the bathroom, she is sitting right outside, I go do laundy, she follows right behind. Ok yes, I would just say I'm flattered that she loves me so much, but she was never like this before. She has been very emotional. So I got her to sit down in the circle this morning, but only if she held my hand. After sitting like this for a few minutes I gave her a big hug and left her crying. It breaks my heart, but what do I do? Help!

An early gift

Santa's helper delivered a gift for the boys today. Clarks coworker has season tickets to the Denver Broncos. Well, he knows what football lovers the boys are, and he gave Owen tickets to the game against the Patriots and Davis tickets to this weekends game against the Bears. I don't think anything I get them for Christmas will top this, they are beyond excited. I am grateful to Clarks parents who will be taking them to these games. Any mom loves seeing her kids so happy!!

CeLeBrAtE!!

Happy National Cotton Candy Day!! For Ally it is like another birthday. Look at Owen, the look on his face says it all. "My mom is such a dork, but if I just pretend to smile this can all be over with soon."

Holiday Outings

Tonight for our weekly holiday outing, we went ice skating. We got on Ally's favorite train (frontrunner) and took it to Farmington station. There is a cute, very little skating rink there. It was so fun skating outside with the holiday music and lights. And the best part is, except for about 20 minutes of our evening we were skating alone. Which was great because the rink isn't much bigger than a puddle, but we had such a fun evening. Santa was even there in a nice warm room so we could warm up by the fire. He didn't hold the kids attention for long though, they were back outside in the freezing cold playing on the playground. I've got to watch Davis, he took a bit of a tumble on the ice and landed on his face. I'm worried about his front tooth. He fell right on his mouth and hit his tooth, and cut his lip. He now has a fat lip, I just hope the tooth doesn't die. Oh my gosh, my bed feels so warm and cozy after the evening out in the freezing cold. Good night.
