Easter without pictures
It isn't like me to not take pictures, I guess I just was too lazy or something. In fact we went to Pocatello on Thursday to have dinner with Owen and Kylee and no pictures. Saturday night Gator and Krissy's kids egged a couple houses, no pictures. The sun finally decided to come out today and the kids played outside, practically no pictures. I guess sometimes you just have to live in the moment.
Just a picture of filthy Davis at work, way up high that he sent me to scare me. It worked, it terrifies me to think of him doing this everyday.Tuesday, April 4, 2023
7 months of winter
Owen sent some pictures of spring practice in the snow. In Pocatello they had snow early October, and they are still getting dumped on. They are pretty sick of the snow after 7 months, hopefully soon they will warm up. He and a friend have taken on the roll of "team dads". They are trying to bring the oline together for some fun and to keep the young players from drinking too much. They've planned some fun things, over the weekend they went skeet shooting. I think it is great of them to try to do some team bonding as well as trying to keep some kids from getting into trouble. Owen is thinking this will be his last year playing football. A hard thought to entertain, but he is so far in his schooling already, some opportunities for furthering his education are looking like that may be the path he is going to take.
Milford
We're on spring break this week. It is more like a second winter break with all the snow we're still getting. We drove down to Milford for the weekend. It was conference weekend so we listened to Saturday's talks driving down and watched it together Sunday. We were going to stay until today, but a big storm was making its way through the state and it was better to leave yesterday morning. Soon it will actually be spring. I'm afraid it will heat up too fast though, we are in for some flooding with with all the crazy snow we've had this winter. Saturday after conference we went to Mikes and saw all the baby cows. I can only handle so much of that though and then the smell and mud just gets the best of me and I'm in the truck for a break. The kids all love going out there though. Sunday after conference, we went for a drive like we usually do to go explore. We got back from that and Gator and I went for a bike ride, it was pretty windy though. They all went back out to Mikes for another visit, but I stayed at the house this time with Sheila. Milford is extremely chill, and I didn't do a bit of homework, so it was a nice weekend, but now I have to spend some time doing homework. Gator has fun plans for spring break, I'll be working and doing homework, but I will join her for a couple of fun things.
We like to go up to the water tank and see the sunset. It was cold and windy, so we only got Eden and Ivy to join us.Krissy started all this crocheting stuff. Gator saw her doing it, and the rest is history.
On our drive I was rolling up the window a little too late. PJ drove through a huge mud puddle and Krissy and I got a big splash. The truck got the worst of it though.

Just a funny picture
Record Breaking Winter
Davis and Gator went skiing at Snow Basin Saturday. The same day they announced it being the snowiest winter ever on record. It is the end of March, and I'm sitting here wrapped in a blanket on a 2 hour late start from school because there is so much snow outside, and it is still snowing. I am not ready for a hot summer, but I do think I am ready for it to stop snowing. We're in for some major flooding this year, unless it never stops snowing I guess. Davis said he has never skied such amazing snow before, he was on cloud 9 being up there skiing in all the powder. He has more experience and a pair of powder skis, Gator had a little bit of a tough time. Once she got unstuck though, she said she had a great time. Definitely a winter for skiers.

Forever Family Day
March 13 is a Monday this year, so I celebrated my Forever Family Day over the weekend. I had to work Saturday, but Owen and Kylee came down and after I got off work, we went to Top Golf. Owen had his cast on from surgery when we went for Davis's birthday, and he likes Top Golf, so I reserved another bay to celebrate my family. A new movie came out that I really wanted to see, and I figured it would be a great weekend to see that with everyone. I just didn't realize a late movie, and daylight savings don't mix too well when you're old. After golfing, we went to dinner, then drove back to Ogden for a 10:00 showing of Champions. I was a tad disappointed in the movie. It had a ton of potential, and could've been more of a "family" film, but it was a little crude and I know I am old fashioned, but I just don't see why that is funny or has to be in a movie. But overall the movie had some funny parts and it was okay. I love my students, and I could see each of them in the characters on the movie so that was fun. After the time change we got to bed at about 3:00 and church is early so I got about 3 1/2 hours sleep. But I love having everyone around, so I happily made a big lunch after church and before Owen and Kylee took off for her moms house. Davis and Kin stuck around for a little bit and we played Switch. After everyone left, I wanted to take a nap, but Gator wanted to go for a drive. I am grateful for one thing, that she is my last one to teach how to drive. Teaching a kid to drive has got to be one of the hardest things I've done. But we went for the drive, and I survived to get to come home and chill on the couch before I was asleep by 8:30. That was a bad choice though because I was up a lot during the night. I'm worse than a little kid with daylight savings. We need to do away with the whole time change thing, leave it at one time. It was a fun weekend though, and I love celebrating my family.

Learners Permit
Gator studied really hard for her learners permit and today she went and passed the test on her first try. Now to teach her the difference between the gas pedal and the brake.

15
Here she is newly 15! Balloons and cinnamon pull apart for breakfast, a great day already!
My mistake. The pull apart still tasted good.
Temple appointments are hard to get still, but she scheduled months ago to be able to go do baptisms on her birthday with some of her cousins.
And I can't say no on her birthday, so a trip to Menchie's it was.
A new skating rink just opened up in Ogden. It was a very snowy night, but everyone still made it to wish her a happy birthday.

A week early
Gator is guaranteed one shopping day a year. I hate shopping and the only time I willingly go shopping is for her birthday. She gets to pick some new spring clothes at the stores she wants to go and a place to eat dinner. I can't complain, it is her day. I worked today, but hanging out with Gator is what got me through the day at work. Farmington Station was the destination this year. She wanted a new pair of shoes for her birthday so that was the first stop. Rachelle and Millie joined us for dinner, and a trip to everyone's favorite store Bath and Body Works. It smells so good in there. It was a week before her birthday, but as everyone knows, Gator loves her birthday and we will celebrate it every day from now until next Saturday. She deserves all the celebration!
