Time keeps going, here we are in April already. And we are on the countdown to summer vaction. We continue to have a lot of rain, and stormy weather (my favorite), but today we had beautiful blue skies. It was still breezy, but it was a nice spring day. We went to Lagoon in the morning. I've come to the conclusion that after all these years of season passes, 1. my kids have kinda grown out of Lagoon and 2. Lagoon is not made for tall people. Owen could only cram his body on two rides and that was pretty painful. Davis said he'd rather go to Lagoon with friends. After an hour we were ready to go. The kids were just really solemn and I was upset because I want it to be the same as it always has been with our time at Lagoon, but just as the calendar keeps changing, life does as well. We'll make the best of our passes since they've already been bought, and have an awesome time finding some other fun things to make memories with this summer. We still had a good time spending the day together, we always do. After Lagoon, we went and got a drink and went to Layton where the boys got ready for the Preisthood session of conference and Gator and I went and enjoyed the beautiful spring day with my mom in the cemetery. It still sounds strange to say that we go to the cemetery to spend time with her, but it does bring a peaceful feeling to be there and I like that. After playing with grandma, we went back to Krissy's for dinner and some more playing with cousins.
Yesterday even though it was cold and windy, Zeppes is open for the season and it was also the beginning of spring break, so of course we went and got a treat.
Owen was at the Uof U yesterday. He is busy getting out there and meeting coaches and sharing his highlight film trying to get into a college. He would love to play in Utah, and I'd love to keep him close to home.

New do
We got our hair cut this week and Davis decided to go with something new. Owen has had the same hair pretty much since he was 2 years old, but Davis has changed his up a couple of times. This time he needs gel and a blowdryer and brush, the whole works. It has brought some drama in the morning because all he's ever had to do to style his hair is get out of the shower. He looks good, and so much older.

9 year old heart break
I don't know what happend, but Gator went to take care of Twix last night and she had died. She was just running around on her wheel that morning, and a few hours later she was gone. I heard a terrible cry come from upstairs and I was nervous to go upstairs because for some reason I knew what had happened. I questioned why I had let her get a pet knowing how sensitive she is to death, but I never thought her pet would be gone in 3 weeks. She has cried for the last 2 days, and missed school as well. I feel so sorry for her and how badly she misses her friend Twix. We have a trip coming up in a few days for Spring Break and I hope it helps get her mind off of losing Twix. She is hoping after we get back, I will let her get another hamster, I just don't know if I could watch her heart break again.

March Random
March is almost over, we are in spring, we are in 4th quarter, and 2017 is just about 1/4 of the way complete....so so crazy. I hate how fast time goes, but I have to say I am very ready for school to be done for the year and to enjoy summer break.
The kids and I went for a walk the other night and we saw the moon coming up over the mountain. It was so pretty, and as always a picture just doesn't look the same.

We've had great kite flying weather this month. Breezy and warm. Everything is greening up and it looks like we are done with the snow. The last couple of days have been pretty rainy, but that just makes everything look extra clean and green.
Helping Owen with a little homework at midnight. He thinks playing pick up ball is much more important than homework, so that is usually his first priority every evening.
These kids amaze me. I had to work a lot harder then they do for my grades, and I only remember getting a 4.0 once and that was the last quarter of my senior year.
Gator has some great Activity Day Leaders and I loved this cute poem and they made lip gloss.
Pretty neat accomplishment to letter in 3 high school sports. I told Owen to do track and go for 4 sports, the track coach even offered him a steak dinner, but the kid just hates track.
Twix is doing great in her new home. I read hamsters were nocturnal and didn't think too much of it, but this little creature loves to run, and she runs all.night.long on her wheel. Good thing Gator doesn't keep her in her bedroom, but I can still hear this little creature spinning that wheel all night, she probably runs 10 miles every night in that thing.
We had planned on going to Lagoon today, the first day of the season, but it was too rainy. I would've gone cause I love the rain and puddles, but it was kinda chilly and the rides probably wouldn't have been too fun. With the rain, soccer was cancelled so we had to find something to do. It's awesome having so many cousins, there is always friends to hang out with! Davis's obsession lately has been the trampoline, so we went to Sky Arena in Layton.
Owen had other plans all weekend. He was in Logan yesterday at Utah State, and today he was in Provo at BYU. He is working hard on his college football dream and it's fun to see it is starting to pay off. He was sending me pictures of the stadiums and the teams as they practice. I told him I didn't want pictures of people I didn't know, but some of his cute face. Well, he listens to his mom and I got my picture. Monday, March 20, 2017
Family Night
Our first fire of the season is always the Christmas Tree. It is tradition, so tonight for FHE that is what we did. It was a blah Monday, nothing bad happened, it was just blah so I was so happy when I looked at the schedule and saw that we could just hang out tonight and not have to go anywhere. The idea of spending the evening with my family got me through my blah Monday.
Dinner was easy tonight. Hot Dogs and Smores. The only way I like hot dogs is cooked over the fire, and I've been craving one so what a perfect dinner for the first day of spring.
Davis had a friend come down after we ate, even Twix spent some time outside with us. She wasn't sure about the grass though and didn't run much in her ball.
Laying on the trampoline looking at the beautiful blue sky. It really was a pretty night. Saturday, March 18, 2017
Finished the party
Months ago when Disney annouced the release date of Beauty and the Beast, Gator decided that is what she wanted to do for her birthday party. I bought the tickets 2 months ago, and today we were able to finish up the birthday celebration and have her party and go to the park afterwards for cupcakes and playing. It was a fantastic movie, we loved it!

Absolutely Incredible Kid Day
Now this is a holiday I can celebrate, because I have 3 of the most incredible kids ever! I reserved this day 2 weeks ago, because they are so busy and I wanted to this day to hang out with them. We got some pizza from The Pie and went to a park and enjoyed the evening. That is until Owen decided to freak Davis out and get a little too close to the water. Davis is my dare devil when it comes to skiing and long boarding, you wouldn't think he ever gets nervous. But I've seen the poor kid so terrified he is in tears twice his whole life. The first time we were driving in Farmington Canyon and the narrow roads scared him, and tonight as Owen thought he'd get a laugh at his expense by playing on the bridge. But then 5 minutes later, Davis was dangling from the top of a tree. I was so confused. I love my incredible kids and I love seeing them accomplish incredible things!

I thought we were done
When school basketball season ended I was a little hopeful things would slow down a little when it came to basketball, but I was wrong wrong wrong. Davis was in a tournament with the Jr High this weekend. He loves basketball though, and doesn't ever want it to end, so he was fine playing 3 games in a night.
