Sleepy Hollow

I love hanging out with my kids and I'm always looking for fun stuff to do.  I'm glad that I bought tickets for this wagon ride in Midway because Owen can't go to haunted houses this year with his knee, so it gave him a little spooky that he loves so much about the season.  We all enjoyed it, it was a really fun activity.  Just enough scary for me though, I am not very brave.  I didn't get very good pictures during the actual wagon ride, so I took some off the internet.  The moon was full which was perfect for the ride through the woods hearing the story of the Headless Horseman, and seeing the Headless Horseman in the moonlight was freaky.  Funny story, the guy who took us on the wagon ride was the same guy that took us on the sleigh ride, we did at the Ice Castles in Frebruary.  Even funnier is his dad was Owens seminary teacher, and his brother played football with Owen at Fremont.

No more breaking down!

Cars have been a big stress for us lately.  The Kia needed some major repairs, Owen's truck was broken down, his Mustang, was never reliable, and Davis needs new tires.  We are making headway.  And I went out by myself and bought a new car.  I am so excited to have a safe car for my family.

Fall Drive

I love my fall drive day.  I look forward to it all year long.  Fall is so beautiful to me.  And I get to spend the day with my favorite people, and they let me take pictures.  I love where we live because there are so many options for my fall drive.  Today we went up to Mantua.  It's so close, but I've never been to the reservoir or anything.  I've driven by it hundreds of times and today that is where we went.  Krissy and PJ went with us and we had lunch at the reservoir then drove over to a campground and walked around a little bit listening to conference.
Davis has a heart on his shirt.  The way he was standing with his hand in his pocket, the light made a heart.

Stress Relief

Through the years, we've had friends that have let Gator ride their horses.  The speech therapist at my school has a little farm, and a daughter that has horses and is so kind the have Gator over to get her therapy and stress relief.  Animals have Gators heart.

Pumpkins

I know the boys think they are too old for the pumpkin patch. But I can still talk them into going with Gator and I, and I can still talk them into letting me take pictures too.  They love me, and they know how much I love fall and all the fall activities.  I usually throw a treat in, so they really don't mind at all.

Relief

While things are still rough around here, we got some great news over the weekend that puts one stress to ease.  Owen and I went to Pocatello for the ISU game on Saturday.  I was nervous to see the coaches and hear what they would say.  But seeing them in person calmed me down, and I could see some worries being lifted from Owen as well.  They were shocked to see him walking and coming to a game so soon after this surgery.  They were excited to see him, and said to start getting his name on housing waiting lists for fall!  We were so scared that they were going to pull his scholarship after this injury, and after some of the texts, we felt it was a closed deal.  So, he is going to rehab and get his strength back and go kill it on the football field next year.  The game was pretty exciting too.  ISU beat Portland State.  I can barely stand it waiting to watch Owen play again.  This morning he had a post op appointment, and Dr. Thomas was also very surprised to see the progress Owen has made in just 10 days.  I think the mind is a very powerful thing, and if it is in the right place, all sorts of amazing things can happen.

Lock the door

When things seem to be spiraling downward so bad, I want to get my kids in our apartment and lock the door.  Nothing bad can happen if we are in our space with the door locked right.  I found out my way of thinking was wrong, there is still a phone.  And people with no good intentions can still get through the door.  We only had a few minutes before dark tonight, but I had to just relax and enjoy my kids.  We went out in the yard and played ladder golf.  They are my medication.  I don't think they will ever know what they mean to me and what I would do for them.  Fall is here and I am in love!  Our apartment has lots of trees and they are beginning to change colors and we are close to the mountains, and reds and oranges are starting to pop up everywhere on the mountains.  So, I will wake up every day and face the new day with a smile and happy heart.  I will be a good example for my kids, and try to teach them that good is everywhere, even when all we can see is the bad.
Davis got asked to Sadies tonight.  Kennedy asked him.  I'm glad that they are still friends, I like Kennedy, I just didn't like Davis having such a serious girlfriend.  I hope they have fun.

Weekend Games

It was a good weekend for Fremont and Gators soccer team.  Fremont played undefeated Syracuse and beat them!  It was a fantastic game.  Davis played so good.  He had an amazing game.  Again, Owen insisted on being there.  I brought a chair and he was good for most of the game sitting away from the crowd, I would just keep going out there and switching the end of the field that the chair was on.  And on Saturday morning, we were tired, but we made it to soccer and Gator kicked butt on the defense again.  She likes to play center defense, and not many balls make it past her.  Life is crazy and busy, but this is one part of my life that I never want to end, and I will miss it terribly.  I love so much, watching my kids and supporting them in their sports.  Not just their sports, but anything they decide to do.  I have some pretty amazing kids.  They are the only thing getting me through life right now, I am blessed.
It's blurry, but I love watching Owen coach Davis.  I love how Davis comes to Owen for football advice, and I love that Owen looks for Davis after the offense comes off the field so he can talk to him.
Just a random picture that I think shows Owens dedication to football and the team.
This picture isn't from the Syracuse game this weekend, but I found it on FB and I love it.  I think it is from the game last weekend against Clearfield.
The poor girl hit a brick wall when she ran into Gator.
We took the wrap off Owens knee yesterday and he was able to shower.  I wasn't expecting this large of an incision.
