Slip Slindin' Away

Today my boys learned a lesson, the weather man is not always right. They could have been upset and thrown a fit (because my boys are so good at that), but they decided to go ahead with their plans anyway. They got a new slip and slide and have been dying to try it out. I promised them they could on Monday because the weather report was forcasting a beautiful hot day in the 80's, well we barely got up to 70 today in Ogden, but they were out there in the yard anyway having a blast in the freezing cold water!!

Race for the Cure

Today was the Susan Komen Race for the Cure. It was a chilly, crowded morning but we had a fun time. Mom, Carrie, Wayne, Lu, Andrea, Rachelle, Krissy, Lucy, Ally and I all went and participated along with about 17,000+ other people. It was amamzing how many people were there. We could barely move because there were so many people, so it wasn't really a race, but just a walk along the streets of Salt Lake, but it was for a great cause.

Now some fun

Afer all that hard work in the garden, the boys wanted to play and ride their new bikes. Ally got a little mad when they took off and she ran down the road after them. I am going to have to watch that little girl, she runs away and is fearless. Today we were outside and she had climbed over all the bikes and toys in the garage to get to Davis' bike, and she had climbed up the bike and was standing on the handle bars. She wants to do everything the boys do and she just wanted to ride the bike!

The boys' garden

Owen and Davis have been wanting to plant a garden. All I can remember from our huge garden when I was little was all the weeding we had to do. So I have been putting them off, but in primary they learned how the prophet has said to plant a garden. And the primary is having a zucchini growing contest. So (because I hate yard work so much) I gave them the front flowerbed to have their garden in. This gets me out of the work of planting flowers and it also gives them a space of their own. They planted the zucchini and also some carrots. We'll see what grows, the neighbors dog has taken a liking to the cool dirt and makes his resting spot right on top of the carrots! But the boys worked very hard, and they check on their garden daily.

Family time

We had a fun weekend hanging out with family. Krissy and PJ blessed Lucy today and we just made a weekend out of it. Dad came up and so we went to dinner last night and after church today we had lunch over at Krissy's and PJ's. My boys love getting together with their cousins. They like to bring their bikes or scooters and take off for hours. Last night the boys were out riding bikes and it started to down pour, they came back drenched, but they didn't mind at all! So now they are in bed and it is quiet in my house and I am enjoying the thunderstorm outside. I love thunder. My kids not so much though, Owen is asleep on my floor (but shhh, don't say anything to him). I don't mind, it makes me feel like he still needs me just a little!

Pinewood Derby

We survived. I was beginning to wonder if we would, as I was walking into the church tonight. All the kids were walking in with their cars carefully placed in boxes with cushion (I didn't even think of that) and looks of concentration on their faces. The dads were walking in with their tool boxes in hand and the same look on their face. I was sent home to retrive the brush that was forgotten (the wheels just wouldn't have been the same without the extra graphite, and this little brush was the best way to apply it, so I was told). We walked into the gym and the "derby referee" had his scale and tools and computer all set up. He has been doing this for 24 years. He had everything down to a science. There has always been this pinewood derby world going on that I completely knew nothing about!! I seriously thought we would put these cars on the track and race it once and it would all be done. Oh I was wrong! Each car raced 12 times. So when it was all said and done, Owen's little crayon box won 4th place (out of about 20). He was very excited. Davis even got to race his car at the end. he got first (out of two).

And as you can see, Ally wasn't too impressed with the whole thing. When she wasn't running around screaming and trying to jump off the stage she was on the floor throwing a fit to go outside and play.

Tis the Season......for LAGOON!

Oh the things we do for our kids. The last few years we have purchased Lagoon season passports, and we have a blast spending time together there. Today was the first time we went for the season, and it was great. A little cold, but that meant no crowds at all. The kids walked on every ride, and after just two hours they had done everything and we went to lunch so we could warm up and fill up! After Lagoon, we worked on Owens pinewood derby car. Man this is a big deal, I can't believe what goes into these cars. I don't think the "Down and Derby" movie is silly anymore, it is real!!

Not quite what they thought

The boys are doing a fishing club through Clearfield city, and they have been so excited. The first week was just talking and going through what they would be learning, so they could hardly contain themselves for week #2 when they would actually be able to try their hand at fishing. Well, I don't think it was quite what they thought it would be. As they sat there and sat there and sat there with not even a nibble they were so disappointed. I told them this is what fishing is. I don't think Owen even gave the fish time, he kept pulling in his line and casting it out every 5 seconds. And Davis just spent the time untangling his line. But you know they are still excited for next week, and say that will be "their week"! I couldn't really watch them much, because I was too busy chasing Ally around. I was so scared she would jump, well fall, in the pond. She is so busy, I finally just strapped her in her stoller and had a little break.

Couldn't hold them back any longer!

Owen and Davis have been begging to play in the water for days now, and I just didn't have the energy to tell them no today. They had a blast!! They were outside for a couple of hours playing in the sprinkler and having water fights, and just having a good time! They want to fill up the pool and jump right in. Ally is just like the boys, she got right in there with them and had a ball. She was soaked and still trying to "swim" in the bucket. Sun and water and play equals some very tired kids that are ready for bed!

Totally random post with cute pictures!

We have been up to nothing in particular just busy playing outside and the boys are finishing up the school year. We are planning our trip to Disneyland, so Clark is working hard, and extra so we can save for that. The boys are just as busy as ever with their sports and scouts (the pinewood derby is coming up and I had no idea that was such a big deal) and they are starting a new sport this spring. They are taking a fishing class and they LOVE it after just one week. So I am just going to post some random pictures. Enjoy!

Ally is so attached to her blanket (she has 4 of the same one) that this particular day she even needed it in the bath!

The best part of soccer is the oranges during half time. Davis is concentrating just as hard on getting all the juice out of the orange as he does on kicking the ball!

Scarey, but Owen it is so cute!! (I know every single picture I take of Owen he is in a jersy. He does have other clothes I promise, but this is all he will wear)

We had a party tonight for Grandma (86) Ty (5) & Dallin (3). This is a cute picture of grandma. Happy Birthday everyone!

Ally's new way of cleaning up her toys. Crazy kid!

As soon as the kids got up and going today they were outside loving the warm weather after a week of cold and rain.

Lots of Easter Pictures!

Whew, it was a busy weekend. Today after church, we went over to Stewarts for a FHE and dinner. While we were there we also celebrated Dallin's 3rd birthday. He was VERY excited about that, and got mad at anyone who dared leave the property because they "were missing his birthday". So here is a bunch of pictures from our day today. We had a great weekend.
