We got home from camping today. We went up to Colins property. I'm glad that Antelope Island didn't work out, because it was so much prettier up where we went. I love the mountains. It was nice cool mountain air (until we went for our hike then it seems like the sun turned the heat up). Luckily we went with Carrie and Wayne, who had tents, cots, and chairs. And Mat & Andrea who had the trailer so we could use the bathroom. Kennedy came up with Davis on Friday evening, then Saturday she went home and Kylee came up with Owen. Grace & Lu came up for the day Saturday, and Collin, Ty, and Blake spent Saturday day and night. So it was awesome, we had a good turn out and hopefully we get a couple other camping trips planned for the summer. Camping may be the only thing we can really do all summer. The church has cancelled girls camp, Trek, Youth Conferences, even the 4th of July has been cancelled. How does the 4th of July get cancelled, my kids are so mad, that is their favorite holiday. We're still dealing with all the Covid19 stuff, a few things are opening up, but with very strict rules. Lagoon hasn't opened up yet, it may not all summer. Carrie and Wayne gave us a tent, so we are going to put that to use, and get out and go camping some more I hope.
There is a big steep hill right by the property. Gator and Parker wanted to walk up there and see the sunrise. Mat, Andrea, Wayne, Owen, and I joined them at 6 am to walk up the hill. It was beautiful.
Colin went with us, and took some of the kids for a ride in his razor. Davis can't wait to have the money saved from his job to buy a 4wheeler or dirt bike.
We started off on a short walk that turned into quite a hike. It was tough, but so pretty. And when the hot sun went behind the clouds it was nice. Tyler came looking for us so he took a picture. After a couple hours, Mat came by on his bike. We hadn't really led anyone to think that we'd be gone for so long.
There were a few ladder golf tournaments.
Some card games.....
And the boys all had a shooting game going.
This morning we were sitting by the fire after it had just rained a little. We told Afton that grandma was wishing her a happy birthday from heaven with the sun rays shining through the clouds.
The boys slept the first night in the back of their trucks. Owen has already ordered a truck tent like Carrie and Wayne had. Luckily last night they slept in a big tent with Collin and Ty because it rained a little during the night.
